MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Bacone Warriors led 30-25 late in the first half before LSU-Shreveport used a pivotal 15-4 run to lead 40-34 at halftime en route to defeating Bacone by a final score of 98-73 Monday, Jan. 21 at the Palmer Center Gym.
In the second half the Warriors never got closer than five points while the Pilots heated up to hit 52 percent (21 of 40); in contrast Bacone knocked down 44 percent (30 of 68) for the game but hit six of 22 three-pointers and went seven of 24 free throw attempts.
The Pilots finished shooting 44 percent (34 of 76) on the night.
Creed Flowers and Derrick Thomas finished with 15 points apiece; Christian Smith finished with 13 points and 14 boards and Kwame Bates chipped in 11.
Bacone (3-14, 1-10) face Jarvis Christian at 7:30 p.m.
