MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Bacone track and field coach Darrin Prince announced the signing of two of Oklahoma’s finest in Xandrea Maxell from Muskogee H.S. and Morgan Steve from Durant H.S. on Tuesday, July 23.
Maxwell finished fourth in the 200m dash at the 6A state championship and ran the fifth fastest 200m time, 25.13 during the 6A state preliminary round, in the state of any class this year.
Steve, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, finished seventh at the 5A state championship and was signed to the newly created American Indian Athletes of Promise.
“Both of these athletes are not only great on the track but outstanding students in the classroom,” Prince said. “These two are key pieces in building a strong women’s track team both at the conference level and at the national level that is on par with the success of our men’s program.”
