Coach Robbie Shay enter his 8th season at the helm of the Lady Warriors, which is his 13th season overall as a collegiate head coach. Last season he oversaw an influx of younger talent with six freshmen that collected valuable experience and are poised to make a big leap forward during the 2010-11 season.
During his tenure at Bacone he has led the Lady Warrior to the Red River Athletic Conference playoffs for five out of the last seven seasons which has produced 12 All-Conference players, 1 Newcomer of the year and numerous players of the week awards.
He began his coaching career in 1998 as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Southwestern Assemblies of God University under his mentor Coach Steve Garippa. The following season he took over the women’s program at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and lead them to four playoff appearances in his time there. Shay was born in Bolivar Missouri. He attended high school in Cleveland, Texas at Heritage Christian Academy. Upon completing high school he went on to play four years at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
During his time there he graduated with a dual degree in Secondary Education History/Business and a Minor in Bible. In 2007, Shay also graduated with a Masters in Sports Administration from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
He currently resides in Muskogee with his wife Kelly.
