Head Coach Brett Oleson begins his third season as the Bacone College Head Wrestling Coach. Coach Oleson will lead the warrior squad in the 2010-2011 season. Coach Oleson comes to Bacone after serving as the assistant wrestling coach at Waldorf College for the past three seasons.
During his tenure at Waldorf, Coach Oleson has coached 26 national qualifiers, four All-Americans, and one National Champion, Brad Stockon.
In the 2009-2010 season: Bacone qualified seven wrestlers to the national tournament and had one All-American, Jeremy Colbert. As a team the Warriors placed 26th in the nation and look to improve on last years team finish.
Oleson wrestled his college career at Waldorf College at 174 pounds from 2001-2004. Coach Oleson qualified for the NJCAA national tournament in 2003 and the NAIA national tournament in 2004.
Oleson, a Eagle Grove, Iowa native, graduated from Waldorf College with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Brett and his wife Misty, currently reside in Muskogee.
Coach Jeremy Colbert begins his first season on the warrior wrestling coaching staff. Coach Colbert is from El Reno, Oklahoma. Colbert graduated high school in 2004 where he was a two time high school state finalist and state champion. His senior year of high school he was ranked sixth nationally by USA Wrestling.
After high school Coach Colbert attended North Carolina State University. Their he was a three time starter, D-1 National Qualifier, two time ACC finalist, and champion.
Colbert then transfered to Bacone College his senior year. During his time at Bacone, Colbert won numerous tournaments, was a team captain, national qualifier, and a NAIA All-American.
Colbert and his fiance, Karee Tummings, have two children; McKenzie and Cayden Colbert. He graduated in 2010 with a degree in Sports Management. |
