SAC ANNOUNCES ALL-CONFERENCE SOFTBALL TEAM
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla — The Sooner Athletic Conference has announced its 2016 all-conference softball team and top individual awards. The team was voted on by the conference’s eight softball coaches. MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Bacone College Lady Warriors and head softball coach Devin Cross announced the 2014 Alumni Day which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a catered lunch at the Warrior Softball Field. Following lunch, there will be a softball game which will allow the Bacone Softball Alumni to interact with the current players.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA All-Region team was released with Tarah Moutray and Kelli Costello grabbing honors.
Moutray was named to the Southwest Region’s second-team at third base and Costello was named to the second-team at shortstop.
Moutray finished the 2014 season with a .372 batting average, 12 homeruns and 38 RBIs; Costello hit .402 with one homerun and 24 RBIs.

FARMER’S BRANCH, Texas – Eight errors proved costly for the Bacone Lady Warriors as their season ended on Saturday, May 3 with a 6-3 loss to Langston on day two of the RRAC Softball Championship.
The Lady Lions built a 4-0 lead before Rhiannon Bean hit a double to score Frankie Belcher for Bacone’s first run in the bottom of the fifth.
Langston added two runs in the sixth to carry a 6-1 lead into the final inning.
The Lady Warriors scored twice but could not complete the comeback as they fell 6-3 to Langston to finish the season at 22-31.
Starter Sylver Collins allowed three runs with five strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings and Lucy Walter gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings in relief.
FARMER’S BRANCH, Texas – The Bacone Lady Warriors managed a split on day one of the RRAC Softball Championship on Friday, May 2.
Despite being designated as the third seed the Lady Warriors promptly defeated second seed Southwest (N.M.) 4-1 to stay in the winner’s bracket.
Leading 1-0 after three innings Bacone collected three crucial runs in the fourth to move in front 4-0 and eventually win 4-1.
Starter Megan Filanda pitched a gem on the mound; the junior held the Lady Mustangs to one run on five hits.
Kelli Costello led Bacone at the plate, going two-for-three with one RBI.
In game two the Lady Warriors were unable to get going offensively and fell 4-0 to Our Lady of the Lake.
Starter Natisha Nakai allowed four runs in 1 1/3 innings and Lucy Walter pitched the final 4 2/3 innings.
Bacone (22-30) will face Langston on Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m. in an elimination game.
WACO, Texas – The Red River Athletic Conference announced the 2014 softball All-Conference team with four Lady Warriors being named to the team.
Earning a spot on the RRAC All-Conference team was Rhiannon Bean, Kelli Costello and Tarah Moutray.
Bean finished the season with a .369 batting average with 13 RBIs; Costello hit .415 with one homerun and 22 RBIs.
Moutray hit .397 with a 12 homeruns and 38 RBIs.
Marcel McMoore was named to the RRAC Champions of Character team.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Bacone Warriors fell short in back-to-back game against Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday, April 26 to conclude the regular season.
Trailing 2-0 entering the third inning the Lady Saints tacked on 11 scores to move them to 13-0 where they eventually won 13-4 in five-innings.
Sylver Collins, Megan Filanda and Lucy Walter combined to allow 13 runs on 15 hits in four innings of work.
Tianna Gutierrez led Bacone at the plate, going one-for-two with one RBI.
In game two the Lady Saints managed to edge out Bacone 3-1.
Natisha Nakai took the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits in six innings; Kelsey Lamb picked up the only RBI for the Lady Warriors.
The Lady Warriors (21-29, 10-10) claimed the third seed in the Red River Athletic Conference softball championship beginning on Friday, May 2 in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Bacone faces second-seed Southwest on Friday, May 2 at 1:30 p.m.; the winner will play again on Friday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. and the loser at 4 p.m. on the same day.

The Lady Warriors (21-27, 10-8) faces Our Lady of the Lake in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 to wrap up the regular season.
In game one the Lady Saints lead 2-0 through two innings and ultimately defeated the Lady Warriors 7-0.
Lucy Walter was charged with the loss after allowing five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.
The Lady Saints continued their momentum with a tight 3-2 win over the Lady Warriors.
Trailing 2-1 in the fourth inning, Bacone tied the game on an RBI single by Rhiannon Bean to score Kayla Bay. OLLU scored in the bottom of the fourth off a fielder’s choice to move in front 3-2.
Megan Filanda tossed six innings where she allowed two earned on five hits; Bean finished two-for-three with two RBIs on the day.
Bacone (21-27, 10-8) concludes their series with OLLU with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 11 a.m.
MUSKOGEE, Okla. – In their last home contests of the season the Bacone Lady Warriors split with Panhandle State on Wednesday, April 23.
The Lady Warriors scored twice in the first inning when Kelli Costello came home on an RBI single by Tarah Moutray and Aleia Murphy scored off a wild pitch.
The Aggies turned the tide and moved back in front 5-2 through four innings; Bacone trimmed the lead to 5-2 off a solo homerun from Moutray in the bottom of the fifth.
Panhandle State tacked on three runs in the sixth and eventually defeated the Lady Warriors 8-3.
Moutray finished three-for-three with one homerun with two RBIs.
Lucy Walter was charged with the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings; Natisha Nakai tossed 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing three runs in six hits.
In the finale the Lady Warriors entered the bottom of the seventh tied 2-2 when Costello reached base on an infield single.
After two outs and a walk to Moutray, Kelsey Lamb came to the plate with two runners on and connected on an RBI single to centerfield that scored the game-winning run by Costello.
Bacone improved to 21-25 overall with the 3-2 victory over Panhandle State.
Lamb went one-for-one with one RBI and Moutray finished one-for-two with one homerun.
Collins picked up her 10th win of the season after tossing a complete game; the freshman allowed two runs on eight hits.
The Lady Warriors (21-25, 10-6) wraps up the regular season with a four-game series at Our Lady of the Lake beginning on Friday, April 25; Bacone is slated for a doubleheader to begin at 1 p.m.
