Bacone Loses 10-5 to OKWU

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Oklahoma Wesleyan jumped out to an early and held on to defeat the Bacone Warriors 10-5 on Tuesday, Mar. 26 that ends Bacone’s eight-game win streak.

Oklahoma Wesleyan led 6-0 before the Warriors were able to score their first run in the third innings when Will Simms came home on a sacrifice fly by Tony Mendez.

Bacone cut the lead in half in the fifth when Wade Morten singled home two runs in Simms and Anthony Seabolt; the Warriors wouldn’t be able to sustain the charge in the 10-5 defeat.

Taking the loss for the Warriors was Kydani Ortiz (2-1); the junior allowed six runs in two innings. Matt Durbin, Cody McBride and Alberto finished the game and combined to allow four runs in seven innings.

At the plate Morten led Bacone, going three-for-five with two RBIs.

Bacone (25-9) returns to conference action this weekend when they travel to face Jarvis Christian beginning on Friday, Mar. 29 at noon.
