Warriors Fall to No. 1 OBU

­SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Bacone Warriors fell short on Tuesday, April 22 against No. 1 Oklahoma Baptist 8-5 at home.

The Bison led early 1-0 through two innings when the Warriors cruised back in front after two RBI-singles from Ryan Wagner and Eric Folkers to score Jonathan Villela and Jean Carlos Rodriguez.

OBU tacked on three runs in the third and two in the fourth to take back the lead 6-2 entering the sixth inning.

Folkers knocked in a solo homerun in the sixth and Nathan Jolliff scored off an RBI groundout in the seventh to trim the Bison’s lead to 6-4.

The Bison countered with two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to lead 8-4; the Warriors scored once in the ninth but could not get any closer, falling 8-5.

Dalton Gervais took the loss in relief after allowing five runs, two earned in 2 2/3 innings; Folkers finished two-for-four with two RBIs.

Bacone (28-17, 13-7) hosts Texas College in a doubleheader on Friday, April 25 beginning at 1 p.m.
