Track Spotlight: Dythe and Redmond

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Throughout the track & field Bacone will highlight two members each week as fans will learn more about the 2013-2014 Bacone Warriors and Lady Warriors.

This week the first to be spotlighted sophomore Latoya Dythe; Dythe is a dual-major is criminal justice and business administration and come to Bacone College after attending Woonsocket High School in Woonsocket, R.I.

Dythe will compete for Bacone in a variety of events; she was All-State all four years in high school and was All-Division champ in the 55m, 100m, 4X100 relay and long jump during her junior and senior years.

“Latoya is a Jamaican athlete by way of Rhode Island who has lots of potential,” head coach Darrin Prince noted. “We expect her to really excel at the indoor 60-meter and outdoor 100-meter runs.”

Dythe’s favorite TV Show: Charmed

This week’s second spotlight is Freshman Sherrod Redmond; Redmond came to Bacone College after attending White Station High School in Memphis, Tenn.

The 5’10 criminal justice major will compete in the 400 and 800-meter runs after redshirting during the 2012 season.

“Sherrod is a freshman who redshirted last season and had a great year of developing,” Prince added. “I expect him to be a solid contributor on a couple of our relay teams and is another athlete with lots of potential to do well in the 800-meter run during the indoor and outdoor seasons.”
