Warriors Win at Pratt

PRATT, Kan. - The Bacone Warriors returned to the mats on Wednesday, Nov. 20 and managed to defeat the No. 20 Pratt Beavers (NJCAA) 21-18.

The Warriors welcomed some new faces into the starting lineup in Gabe Boynay (141) and Kyler Kilpatrick; Bacone also bumped up 157 pound freshman Josue Terrones to 165 pounds.

Bacone split matches with Pratt J.C., winning five apiece; the difference of the dual was bonus points. 

Jose Hernandez got a pin at 184, Josue Terrones got a tech fall, and Miguel Perez got a major decision.

“I liked our intensity and will to win in the dual,” Warrior head coach Brett Oleson said. “Even the matches we lost we gave ourselves an opportunity to win, we had our chances to win and that’s what you want to see.” 

“Our team has been getting better each competition.  We got to keep improving on our aggressiveness and positioning.”
