MUSKOGEE, Okla. – A strong second half by Texas Wesleyan proved vital as the Lady Rams defeated the Bacone Lady Warriors 77-46 Monday night, Jan. 7 at the Palmer Center.
In the first half the Lady Warriors played tough; they entered halftime trailing just 31-29 against the Lady Rams.
At the start of the second half Texas Wesleyan came out strong, scoring eight straight to lead 39-29 over the Lady Warriors; Bacone cut the deficit to seven points at 46-39 with 11:23 remaining after Danielle Burgess nailed a three-pointer.
TWU responded with a 13-3 run over the course of the next four minutes to build a 59-42 advantaged over Bacone; the Lady Warriors never got closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
For the game Bacone hit 24 percent (17 of 70) while going seven for 16 at the free-throw line and committed 20 turnovers.
Kayla Denton paced the Lady Warriors with 13 points and Myriah Hadnot led all rebounders with 18.
Bacone (3-8, 2-4) face Huston-Tillotson on the road Saturday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
