MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Leading by five at halftime the Bacone Lady Warriors continued to roll in the second half, leading by as much as 17 to eventually defeat Huston-Tillotson 61-50 Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Palmer Center.
Up 36-27 the Lady Warriors pushed their way to a 12-4 scoring run that put them in front of the Lady Rams 48-31 with 9:36 remaining; Huston-Tillotson cut the deficit to eight with under two minutes to go but it was too little, too late.
For the game Bacone hit 37 percent (22 of 59) while knocking six of 17 three-pointers and converted 11 of 19 free throw tries; the Lady Rams were held to 25 percent (15 of 60) and committed 15 turnovers.
Danielle Reed paced the Lady Warriors with 15 points; Emily Lovell added 13 and Kyna Lewis finished with 13 rebounds.
Bacone (8-16, 6-13) faces Our Lady of the Lake on Monday, Feb. 18 at the Palmer Center.
